Proverbs 14:17

Proverbs 14:17a A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated.

Are you quick tempered, crafty or both? Our temper is quick to flare up for different reasons. First, because we are intolerant. We don’t want to contend with those who cannot duplicate our actions, abilities or intelligence. Second, we are jealous or frustrated because we do not believe we can duplicate the actions, abilities and intelligence of others. What will cure the quick temper? Learn to tolerate others as they have tolerated you, and build off what you can do. Ranting and raving will only reinforce any negative feelings you have about yourself and confirm what others were thinking about you.
