Proverbs 17:13 If a man pays back evil for good, evil will never leave his house.
When one pays back evil for good, they set a precedent that will plague their household. Why? First, because they wound those who may want a truce. Second, they close the door for future camaraderie and finally, they set a bad example. People do this because it affords them the ability to control and hurt others. When your good is returned with evil, it’s not your problem. Don’t allow yourself to be tempted to respond the same way and devastate your household. Continue to do the good God has assigned to you. Your household will enjoy the comfort and confidence of serving God even when rebuffed by others.
